Telehealth Policy Exclusive: What You Need to Know
Through March 31, 2025, you can get telehealth services at any location in the United States, including your home. Beginning April 1, 2025, most telehealth services will require you to be in an office or medical facility in a rural area of the United States.
If you are not in a rural area, you can still get certain Medicare telehealth services on or after April 1, including:
- Monthly End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) visits for home dialysis.
- Services for diagnosing, evaluating, or treating acute stroke symptoms, including a mobile stroke unit, are available wherever you are.
- You can access mental and behavioral health diagnosis, assessment, and treatment services, including those for substance use disorders, from home.
